NiQ’So is an independent HIP HOP artist who has southern roots, but was born and raised in Far rockaway queens of new york city. she started out as a writer of poems at a young age influenced by the legendary writer maya angelou and had recited powerful poems such as '“phenomenal women” at school plays and from maya she learned to be free,confident, and colorful in her writing. and with being surrounded by the musical culture of the 90’s and early 2000’s of new york city niq’so decided to combine her love of writing and the love of her culture of music and use it as a source of therapeutic release, not only for herself but also for the enjoyment of others. at a young age niq’so also fell in love with the art of performing and being able to draw in a crowd. all throughout middle school and high school she has participated in every talent show, every year performing a mixture of her own songs and paying tributes to many different well known artist like, michael jackson, janet jackson, missy elliot, queen latifah, chris brown, r.kelly, nicki minaj and so on. during many high school performances she has always been highly anticipated and requested and has alwayz been known to put on a great show. even after high school she continued to sharpen her craft and as even done grand openings of some clubs in new york city and became a known rapper of many in her community and never disappoints when it is time to deliver. with some of her hit songs like “ghetto”, “trixie”, & “play with me”, niqso shows that she is also a relatable artist to a lot of the young people of our time and can touch more than one audience with her witty word play and how she displays real life situations in her music and in her videos.
